The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is pausing application intake until January 27, 2016

It was announced that as of August 27, 2015, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will not be accepting new applications for all streams and categories until January 27, 2016.

The program is pausing application intake for AINP because it is oversubscribed, with approximately 10,000 applications awaiting assessment and hundreds more being submitted each month. It is clear the demand for AINP far exceeds the 5,500 nomination certificates allotted by the federal government in 2015.

This pause on application intake gives AINP the additional time it requires to reduce wait times for already submitted applications and are waiting on a decision.  This pause will also provide an opportunity to make improvements to the program.  Applicants who planned on applying to AINP will need to wait until the pause reopens on January 27, 2016.
