Effective September 1, 2015, the province of British Columbia has placed a temporary pause on accepting new applications to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration stream and Express Entry stream.
The BCPNP has been given a total of 5,500 nominations for 2015 and 1,350 of these applications are dedicated to the federal Express Entry immigration selection system. The province has received more applications for Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC than it has nominations for 2015 and, therefore, the province has placed a moratorium on new applications until 2016.
The BCPNP will continue to accept applications only under:
- the Health Care Professional (Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC),
- and Northeast Pilot Project categories.
Please note that all new applications must be submitted online via BC PNP Online. Applications will notbe accepted under any other Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC categories at this time.
The recently-opened Entrepreneur Immigration stream will continue to accept registrations for prospective applicants, up to a maximum of 200 per month.
The BC PNP will reopen the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories in early 2016 with a new points-based intake system to prioritize high-impact applicants and ensure occupations and skills are aligned with B.C.’s labour market needs. The province will continue assessing applications from the existing inventory for the remainder of 2015.
Please contact us to find out if you are eligible for the available programs of the BC PNP, or if you might qualify under other multiple Canadian immigration programs.
